▶ CHARACTER
NAME: Felix Hugo Fraldarius
CANON: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
CANON POINT: Azure Moon -- fresh off Endgame, so epilogues do not apply yet.
AGE: 22
BACKGROUND: Wiki link -- contains spoilers for the entire game but the "Azure Moon" route will be where he's coming from. Can also take a peek at the "Possible Endings" category, although that will be left vague for now.
PERSONALITY: Up until age 13, Felix was known to clingy, a crybaby. When he couldn't match up to Prince Dimitri, the older Sylvain, or his brother Glenn, he would get upset, not wanting to be left behind. He was more cheerful and open with his feelings, whereas his brother was colder, sarcastic, hard to get to.
At the age of 13, he lost Glenn to what everyone called a "heroic death" in the Tragedy of Duscur. Stricken with grief, he would never understand the reason that Glenn died nor why everyone hailed him as the perfect knight for throwing his life away. Chivalry became Felix's enemy, and those who chased the shadows of the dead were despised by him. While many of his allies value traits like honor, righteousness, and every other dreamy ideal that makes up a "knight", Felix renounces those things and claims that there is far more to being a good warrior than those fairytales. And while Dimitri becomes consumed by the dearly departed (and for a while Felix seems to be the only one who realizes this), Felix believes that one needs to let go of those ghosts and move on in order to appease them.
Felix became closed off, picking up much of Glenn's personality. Rodrigue, his father, kind of neglected Felix in favor of mourning Glenn, and in becoming a father figure for Dimitri after the King was murdered in the Tragedy of Duscur. Felix became bitter, and he was not shy in letting anyone know it. Not caring too deeply about others made it easier to lose them. Felix's family and friends noticed the drastic change in him, but did not know how to fix it. Though his friends remained supportive, he often pushed them away. He had a strained relationship with Rodrigue, whom he couldn't forgive. Although he does have regrets that they hadn't gotten along at the time of his death either, it is difficult for Felix to forgive and forget. Perhaps simply because his friends and family have made it so, by pressing certain events rather incessantly upon him.
He is kind of a contradiction. On one hand, he will bluntly express his distaste or give his opinions. It is not difficult to tell how he is feeling most of the time. On the other hand, he doesn't wear softer emotions on his sleeve that way. Love, friendship, happiness... such light things are often hidden beneath his hard exterior. He even claims not to respect anyone unless they're strong and will often challenge others to spar with him so he can see their strength for himself. At first glance, that seems to be the only way to impress Felix. He aims to be the strongest one day, to carve his own future, and then continue to get even stronger from there. Weakness is not an option, nor is laying down his sword. He seldom shows a soft spot of any kind, though there are exceptions (i.e. he is fairly gentle regarding Annette and her interesting songs. And he eventually relents to Lysithea as well). He's not a typical "tsundere" type, but he will indeed put up a fight about showing fondness to most people outside of a battle or training field.
Naturally that really isn't all there is to the Fraldarius heir. He does in fact care deeply about his friends and the strongest way he shows it is by never leaving their sides despite threatening to (with the exception of non-Azure Moon routes where you can recruit him to another side, admittedly). Dimitri especially, he constantly says he would like nothing more than to never see him again, and yet never leaves. Although the fact that the prince-turned-king has turned into a "beast" deeply disappoints and angers Felix, he remains loyal, believing himself the only one capable of helping rein that "beast" in, of keeping the Kingdom their home and not letting it fall to ruin. He gets angry at Sylvain for putting himself in danger for Felix's sake, telling him to stop it. Although it is then revealed that he is grateful for Sylvain and only worries because he doesn't want to lose him. He has a deep respect for Byleth not only because they are incredibly strong, but because they have the ability to gather so many people by their side. Felix doesn't want to be forgotten or left alone, he wants to remain constant in the people he cares about's lives, and be remembered for his merits alone.
He is almost always training in his downtime and thus is a very physical person. Actions speak louder than words with Felix and nothing is probably ever going to change that. It's rare to see him relaxing or indulging in anything (he even hates sweets, so that's out of the question), and he claims that he has no interest or experience with women and courting (or even dancing). He has said that in times of peace he wouldn't know what to do with himself and does worry that he would feel or become useless in that case (despite also understanding of course that War is not an ideal state). In other routes he may even give up his title and become a mercenary so he never has to stop fighting. Yet there are endings also where he realizes that the sword isn't everything, and he would gladly give up his sword arm in favor of protecting someone he loves. That is something he learns throughout the game, with Byleth's guidance and teaching.
Felix has suffered a lot of hurt in his life, and it has hardened him. But the gentle boy who only wanted to keep up with his loved ones still remains somehow. He has just transformed that boy into someone strong who will be able to protect everyone no matter the challenge he faces.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Felix wields a sword primarily, but can be classed into many different roles. I will be sticking with Swordmaster, though he has the potential to be a Mortal Savant as well (which enables him to use "reason", or magic). What he lacks in strength (Dimitri, for example, is known for ungodly strength), he makes up in speed.
He possesses something called the "Crest of Fraldarius". Basically, the crest allows him to do more damage than he might normally do. i.e. if his original hit was going to cause 35 damage, the Crest might enable him to do 44 damage instead. Not extremely relevant in the mechanics of Prisma, either way. He's just a strong boy with something his canon highly values.
INVENTORY: His sword, the Aegis shield (a Hero's Relic from canon, which has the ability to halve the damage of any weapon due to the aegis and pavise abilities it possesses), a small vulnerary supply, toothed dagger, Almyran pine needle tea
MOONBLESSING: Iris
